He is probably afraid that you are going to pick him up. The only solution is to continue to pick him up every day until he loses his fear or resentment, (but more likely, it is fear). Immediately bring him close to you and put his feet against your body, preferably on your chest, so that he feels close to you, and continue to support him gently with both hands. You could put a towel on your lap and have him sit there and eat some special food. He needs fresh foods every day such as dark green lettuce, and other greens that would normally be in a salad. Some of the greens that are normally cooked can be given occasionally in small quantities, especially the young, tender leaves, and guinea pigs also adore corn leaves, if you can find organic ones. You can also snip bits of grass from an organic lawn, but always snip with a scissors, not a mower. Most guinea pigs also will eat small pieces of carrot. There are lists online of good foods for them. Guinea pigs also adore Tangerine Dream vitamin C treats, which are essential to their good health.
